To all of our School Food Service Professionals
Can you believe we hav
e started the school year 2021-2022? The last 15 months have been filled with lots of changes, new ways of serving our students, learning to have zoom meetings and great success stories. You have made School Nutrition of SC very proud; you are the unsung heroes. I have always had pride in saying, “I am a member of the School Nutrition Association of SC”. This year we will continue to see new challenges with COVID still being around, supply shortages and staff shortages.
Last year we dealt with many struggles, but let’s look at the positive side, we received attention like never before for the impact we had on students and their ability to learn. The opportunity to serve our students meals, at no charge, all year, will open the door to new customers for a lot of us. The nutritious and high-quality meals you serve will be a treat for many of them. As School Nutrition of SC President, I look forward to highlighting all that you contribute as often as possible.
As President, I look forward to working with the current board to engage existing members, reconnect with those who did not renew their membership, and to recruit new members. Our association is only as strong as our membership. Let’s grow stronger together.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your President. Reach out to me, Joyce Lovett, or any of board members for resources or assistance.
2021-2022 President, School Nutrition Association of South Carolina
